Vatsalya Fest – Cultural Carnival for Mothers & Daughters

VCWomen are the repositories of India's venerable culture and value systems. Conventionally, it is women who pass on a wealth of knowledge to the next generation in the family and ensure that our heritage is preserved. Caught in a web of familial duties, women at times, are not aware of their own creative potential. Or may not have a forum to express this innate ability. 

Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, Ahmedabad celebrates women's creative spirit through ”Vatsalya, a cultural bonanza for Mothers and Daughters”, our main aim to conduct this event is to help our society which is on the verge of forgetting great Indian Heritage, this attempt is to bring back this lost culture into our lives. Through these competitions participants are given an opportunity to come in touch with Ramayan, Mahabharat, Srimad Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita, Puranas and many more Vedic literatures which can help build moral values & lead a balanced life.

Inviting all women above the age of 16 to unleash their flair for Indian arts and culture!

Eligibility: Women above 16 years

Entry Fee: Rs. 100/-  per event/participant, participant with the pass can also attend Workshop on “Handing Children with care”, Seminar on “Healthy Living and Food Habits” and Dance Drama show organised by Vaishnavi Club members.

Vatsalya Fest inauguration is scheduled at 1:00 pm.

Last date for registration is Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Late comers will not be entertained after the stipulated time. (15 minutes after event starts).

Fun events topics/rules will be given on the spot.

Judge’s decisions for all contests are final.

Prize winners of each contest will be announced on our website www.harekrishnamandir.org

All participants will be awarded with certificate.

Attractive gifts will be given away in a special prize distribution ceremony. Winners will be intimated with prize distribution date.

Heritage Fest 2016 Results

Please note that Heritage fest 2016 prize distribution ceremony is postponed to Sunday, Aug 28, 2016

Krishna Heritage Fest is an entertaining & enlightening cultural carnival of contests for children hosted by Hare Krishna Mandir on August 6 – 7, 2016 with a goal to create awareness among our younger generation about the rich Indian culture which has come in heritage since time immemorial.

Fest gave a unique opportunity for children to participate in 25 cultural events as well as imbibe the knowledge of scriptures among them. Main intention of conducting these many competitions in this Fest was to enlighten children with immense Vedic culture, enhance their creativity make them better citizens to the country by imbibing spiritual quotient in them. Children participated in various events like Vedic Quiz – Quiz based on Scriptures, Vedic Skit – drama on any Leela of Lord from Ramayan, Mahabharath or Puranas, Coloring, Painting and Pencil shading of pictures of Lord or any Scriptural based theme.

Heritage Fest this year witnessed 2500 participants from over 40 schools, we take immense pleasure in announcing the most awaiting results of Krishna Heritage Fest – an Interschool competition for children from Class Jr.KG – Class 10.
Krishna Costumes, Puranic Costumes contest and Vedic Skit final contest will be held on Sri Krishna Janmashtami day - August 25, 2016. If any child wants to participate in Krishna Costumes contest can do Spot registration on Aug 25, 2016. For more details please call 9714733229.

Every year, as part of Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations, Hare Krishna Mandir organizes the Krishna Costumes for children. In this competition dress your kids as Krishna / Radha or any Puranic character and win exciting prizes.

Participation details :
Competition Date : Sri Krishna Janmashtami day – August 25, 2016
Time : 11:00am – 2:00pm
Entry – Spot registration will be open from “10:00am – 11:00am”, event begins at 11:00am
Venue – Hare Krishna Mandir, Bhadaj, Ahmedabad.
Result : We shall announce the results on the same day by calling the winners over phone.
Prize DistributionAugust 28, 2016 – 5:00pm onwards
a) Top 3 best participants will be selected as winners.
b) 1 consolation prize.

Rules and Regulation : Krishna Costumes - Class (1 – 10)
Event – Solo, Duration - 1 min
1. Children from Jr. KG to II should dress themselves as Radha or Krishna or any Puranic character.
2. Enactment/dialogues are compulsory for students.
3. Any character from Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavatha or Puranas can be enacted rest will be disqualified.
Judging criteria: Costume, make-up, authenticity based on scriptures, dialogue and enactment.

Heritage Fest – The biggest Carnival of
Cultural Contests

In this age of cutting-edge competition, merely a high IQ and an excellent academic performance cannot ensure a successful career. Gaining life skills and a harmonious personality have become the defining parameters for long-term success in life – professional or personal. Artistic and literary pursuits not only give vent to the innovative and creative faculties of the mind but also play a significant role in harnessing emotional quotient or EQ.

To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to the society at large and educate all people in the techniques of spiritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life and to achieve real unity and peace in the world. One of our major initiatives achieve this objective is its Cultural Education for Students (CES). Started in 2009, CES specifically aims at enhancing values and life skills in children through culture-related activities. It enables children to imbibe sociable and constructive traits and harmonious advancement in character by providing cultural-value-skill rich experience. The Heritage Fest is one of such culture-centric activities.

The Heritage Fest is an entertaining and enlightening cultural carnival of contests celebrating India’s vibrant culture and tradition, conducted for students from Jr.KG to Class X. It provides an exclusive opportunity for them to discover the creative and innovative talents within, by participating in a host of cultural contests (given below). This contest is open to all school-going children in Ahmedabad.

There are six streams of competitions and in each stream there are multiple contests.

Guidelines to Participants:

  All characters, situations, performances, dialogues, scripts, costumes etc., to be based on Vedic scriptures only. For authenticity, please refer to books authored by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

 

Students may participate in multiple events, provided the schedule will not clash. In case of such clash children have to participate in only one event & drop other events. Hare Krishna Movement is not responsible for it, no refund shall be done. We request children/ teachers/ parents to choose events rightly before registration.

 All contests are in English language only. 

Preserve your Hall Ticket that is provided to you against registration as it is very important. No entry / prasadam without producing hall ticket, in case of loss children have to pay fine of Rs. 30/- & collect duplicate hall ticket at registration counter on August 19 - 20, 2017.

Once  registration  is done in the name of Contestant A, if A not able to participate  in Competition due to  any reason, we cannot change the hall ticket in the name of Contestant B. Contestant B has to register and get a new hall ticket. Contestant A shall be considered to be absent if not appearing for the competition.

     For Schools :

        Last date for registration in schools       -         July 21, 2017

        Hall ticket will be issued in schools         -         July 24 - 28, 2017

   Individual participants & Schools: After July 25, 2016, kindly register & collect hall ticket at Hare Krishna Mandir office (working hours Mon – Sat: 10:00am-8:00 pm & Sunday 1pm – 8pm)

 

Stage Performance:

 Music playback systems will be provided. Participants may visit the venue 1 day in advance to see the stage and venues.  

 

Results and Awards:

 The decision of the judges will be final and binding.

 Attractive prizes to the winners will be given away in a grand prize distribution ceremony in Hare Krishna Mandir. A few prize winners will also be provided an opportunity to exhibit their performance during the Temple events. Parents and teachers are also welcome to this ceremony.
