The Beloved Servant of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī & Eternal Associate of Mahaprabhu

Introduction
Śrī Shyamananda Prabhu, along with Śrīnivāsa Ācārya and Śrī Narottama Dāsa Ṭhākura, is one of the foremost eternal associates of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu who appeared to spread the holy name and teachings of Gaudiya Vaishnavism throughout the world.
His life is a shining example of humility, guru-seva, divine mercy, and unwavering devotion to Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa.
sakhye shri-subalasya yam bhagavatah preshthanushishyam tatha
sa shriman rasikendra-mastaka-manish citte mamaharnisham
shri-radhapriya-narma-marmasu rucim sampadayan bhasatam
“May Śrī Shyamananda Prabhu always reside in my heart and bless me with taste for the loving pastimes of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī.”
Divine Birth and Early Life
Śrī Shyamananda Prabhu appeared on the full moon day of Chaitra in 1534 AD in Dharenda Bahadurpura.
His father Śrī Krishna Mandal and mother Durika Devi were great devotees. Having lost many children, they named him Dukhi.
Even in childhood, he showed extraordinary intelligence and devotion. Hearing Gaura-Nityananda’s glories, tears would flow from his eyes.
Initiation and Spiritual Life
He traveled to Ambika Kalna and took initiation from Hridaya Chaitanya Prabhu, who named him:

He dedicated his life fully to guru-seva and devotional service.
Journey to Vrindavan
Following his guru’s order, he went to Vrindavan and studied under Jiva Goswami, alongside Srinivasa Acharya and Narottama Dasa Thakura.
Divine Mercy of Radharani
While serving in Vrindavan, he found the divine anklet of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī.
By divine mercy, he received her darshan and she personally marked his forehead.

Thus he became known as Shyamananda Prabhu, the one who gives joy to Shyamasundar.
Preaching Mission
On his guru’s order, he preached in Odisha, spreading sankirtan and Krishna bhakti everywhere.

vishnau sarveshvareshe tad-itara-samadhir yasya va naraki sah
“One who considers the Deity as stone or a Vaishnava by caste has a hellish mentality.”
